Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare – Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

The original Modern Warfare game defined shooters for the last generation, it brought multiplayer gaming to new heights , and single player story telling with movie-like set-pieces to the fore-front, which have been copied by first person shooters ever since. Hype was at an all time high for the sequel, 2 years later we finally got to play Modern Warfare 2 and even though the game sold more copies than ever before, the single player fell flat and never lived up to the original. Multiplayer was improved but those looking for a story were greatly disappointed.

Portal – Portal 2

Possibly the most controversial game on the list, but hear me out. The original Portal was all about solving puzzles and learning this never before seen “weapon” to traverse a maze-like level, everyone who completed the game felt like the smartest person in the world and there were multiple ways to solve a room. Portal 2 decided to add more of a story into the game and it added a brilliant one, but the level design suffered greatly. No longer was it a challenge to complete a level. You could almost trace back from the exit to where you were supposed to place portals, this was made even easier by the fact that almost 90% of the walls weren’t even “portal-able”.
