E3 2016: Bethesda Press Conference Summary and Round-Up

Bethesda was the second major conference this year, and it was infinitely more exciting than EA’s, despite not having that much content. Perhaps because they actually showed the games that people were excited about, instead of just talking about them. Here’s a summary of the announcements this year:

  • Dishonored II
    • More details given.
    • Trailer shown, looks really good.
    • Loads of gameplay shown.
    • Female protagonist, Emily.
  • The Elder Scrolls: Legends
    • New Elder Scrolls card game.
    • Looks like a fun game.
  • Quake: Champions
    • New Quake announced, quick trailer shown.
    • PC-exclusive from the look of it.
    • Multiplayer-only arena shooter.
  • Fallout 4
    • Contraptions pack announced for next week – lets you make contraptiosn (duh!)
    • Vault-Tec pack in July – ant farm view of bases.
    • Nuka World in August – Amusment park, no more info.
    • Shown in VR this week, launching for the Vive in 2017
    • Fallout Shelter will receive a dweller quest feature, and coming to PC.
  • Skyrim Special Edition officially announced. Includes mods for consoles, and HD textures.
  • Prey
    • Prey is back, but completely rebooted.
    • This now looks more like Dead Space FPS, much darker.
    • Looks very good.
  • DOOM
    • One free-level to play this week on Steam (shareware).
    • New multiplayer maps, and more customisation of maps now allows you to make a single-player experience.
    • Shown in VR this week.
  • The Elder Scrolls Online
    • The Dark Brotherhood expansion video shown.
    • Announcement of One Tamriel, a way to link up with friends, though not really shown in practice.
