E3 2017: Sony Press Conference Recap

Sony’s E3 2017 conference didn’t deliver anywhere near as many surprises as last year, but more of what we have seen before, luckily it was all great footage. From Uncharted: The Lost Legacy to God of War 4, and the biggest shocker, a Shadow of the Colossus remake.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy opened the show

Followed by Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds DLC

A full gameplay demo of Days Gone was next. It began looking very similar to The Last of Us, but soon unveiled why it is so different!

Next up was a bit of a surprise, and something the fans of this series were very excited about. Monster Hunter World, we were hoping for Dino Crisis, but i guess this will do!

Next up was my personal highlight, Shadow of the Colossus remake. In glorious 4K we hope.

Next up was the VR block. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Star Child, The Inpatient to name only 3.

The epic looking God of War was next, more gameplay shown and story elements. It truly looks astounding in every way.

Possibly the only trailer that felt a little flat was Detroit: Become Human. Although we finally saw gameplay, something felt a bland about it all. Maybe it’s more of the same?

And the longest demo was at the end, it was Spider-Man, and it looks like the game we have always wanted!

Thatgamecompany was noticeably absent, perhaps their next game may not be on consoles? Early screenshots looked to be in mobile phone aspect ratios.

Otherwise the show was good. Not great and mind-blowing as E3’s past by Sony. They were bound to fall a bit short after topping themselves for 3 years in a row!
