Since the game was announced, Lords of the Fallen has been getting compared quite a lot to games like Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls, and now the developer of the game says that they welcome the comparisons. Executive producer of the game, Tomasz Gop knows that these comparisons are made quite frequently, and has made his peace with it.
He said in an interview with Game Informer:
On a certain day I said, ‘Hey, what are you going to do? If people are going to compare us to Dark Souls, let’s focus on trying to make that not be a bad thing.
And it certainly isn’t, as the Dark Souls games have got a hell of a loyal fanbase, and critical acclaim. He continued:
Since that day, I sleep way more soundly.
Even the name of the game, refers to an evil god that was defeated a thousand years ago, essentially what mankind thought was the source of all evil. This in a sense is similar to what you see in Demon’s Souls, The Old One, but I won’t mention too much more if you haven’t already played that fantastic game. No release date has been announced, but the game is supposedly releasing in 2014 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. There’s a good possibility that we might hear something about it at E3.
