The latest NPD Group sales figures have been released, and the PlayStation 4 is continuing to outsell it’s competition significantly. This means the PS4 has dominated sales in the US for 5 months straight. However, it is important to note that Microsoft announced a price cut of the Xbox One, three weeks in advance, meaning a lot of people will have held off buying the console until this month, when the price cut has come into effect.
The NPD Group hasn’t revealed full details to everyone, but we know that the PlayStation 4 was the best selling hardware overall, with the 3DS coming in second. The PS4 outsold the Wii U and Xbox One combined, and the Wii U sold around 60,000 units in the month. Gamers have extrapolated that the PS4 sold just under 200,000 units, with the Xbox One selling less than half that at around 77,000 units.
