The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt looks like it could be one of the biggest games releasing early next year, and there’s no doubt that CD Projekt RED, developers of the game, have been putting a lot of effort into making it better than the previous game. Michal Platkow-Gilewski, PR and marketing representative for the company explained that the increase in animations leads to a “far smoother and more responsive” combat experience. Animations in total are up from 7,000 in The Witcher 2, to 12,000 in this game.
Platkow elaborated in OPM:
The sequences of animations that go into one swing of your sword has risen from 20 to around 96 since The Witcher 2. At any given moment you can change target and the animation will be completely fluid. It will actually look like a seamless combo.
So combat will be a lot more fluid than the previous games, and with reportedly 100 hours of gameplay available, it probably has to be. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is scheduled for release in February 2015, and we can’t wait.
